Jennie Discovers What Really Matters After Going “Solo” in New Music Video
Posted on November 21 2018
Jennie from Black Pink just debuted as a solo artist! On November 12, Jennie unveiled her new music video for her debut single “Solo”, with a lot of scenes that were shot in London, England. Jennie achieved more than 14 million views on YouTube with her video for “Solo” in less than 24 hours.
The music video for “Solo” opens up with Jennie by her one-of-a-kind ride, before she enters a luxurious home. Jennie starts off gazing into the distance, wondering what could have been and if she and her lover could still be together. Jennie moves on later on, going outside her place to have fun and to explore the city on her own. Jennie later goes back to her crib, to pull off the final moves with a full-on dance crew.
Jennie’s new single “Solo” is a dance track that blends in beats and synths from hip-hop and EDM, with smooth rap breaks from the Black Pink soloist herself. The lyrics talk about how Jennie can be more true to herself when she’s flying solo, rather than having to be someone else when she’s in a relationship. Jennie is the first Black Pink member to release a solo single, with Rose, Lisa, and Jisoo’s solos set to arrive next.
Jennie’s latest comeback as a member of Black Pink happened last June, with the release of the group’s debut mini album “Square Up”. In the music video for the lead single “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du”, Black Pink pretend to shoot a gun as part of their dance moves, as they challenge their lover to come closer and to get to know them for who they really are.
