EXO Reveal “For Life” Music Videos and Special Winter Album
Posted on December 24 2016
EXO is back, with a winter comeback! On December 18, EXO revealed their fifth mini album and third winter special album “For Life”. In their new music videos, EXO receive a gift from a girl, that they originally gave to her earlier on, that she gives back to them again – a cycle that reflects the meaning of the song’s title “For Life”. “For Life” is EXO’s third winter comeback, following “Miracles in December” from 2013 and last year’s “Sing for You”.
In the music video for “For Life”, EXO member Kai is about to head off late at night. As he gets in the car, a girl – played by Japanese actress Nanami Sakuraba – gives him a bracelet. Suho wakes up in the middle of a forest, and sees the girl running off, and chases after her. Chanyeol then meets with the girl face-to-face, surrounded by lights, and gives her the bracelet. After she wakes up, she runs and returns it to Kai – the same scene at the beginning of the video. EXO’s music videos for “For Life” surpassed one million views in less than 24 hours.
EXO’s new lead single “For Life” is a ballad that magically blends EXO’s soothing vocals, the piano, and a string accompaniment to make for an amazing song for this holiday season. The special winter album includes five new songs, in both Korean and Chinese: title track “For Life”; “Falling for You”; “What I Want For Christmas” sung by Suho, Baekhyun, Chen, and D.O.; “Twenty Four” by Xiumin, Chanyeol, Kai, and Sehun; and “Winter Heat”.
EXO made their previous record-breaking comeback last June and August – with their third full album “Ex’Act” and its repackage, “Lotto”. EXO promoted the album with three lead singles - “Lucky One”, “Monster”, and “Lotto”. EXO released “Dancing King” for SM Station last September. Lay was also the first EXO member to make his solo debut, with “what U need?” and “Lose Control”, last October. In the same month, EXO’s first ever official sub-unit, EXO-CBX, debuted with “Hey Mama”.
