Posted on 25 June 2018
Black Pink are back! On June 15, Black Pink revealed their new music video for “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du”, the lead single of their first mini album “Square Up”. Black Pink broke a new record once again with their video for “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du”, achieving more than 33.7 million views in less than 24 hours. The YG girl group previously set a new record of surpassing 13.3 million views in less than a day, with their video for “As If It’s Your Last”.
The music video for “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du” opens up with Black Pink in a blue tinted dance set, planning what they’re going to do next behind the scenes. Black Pink make finger guns with their hands and mimic the sound of shots going through the air as part of their latest dance moves. The girls tell their special someone to step up and come closer, daring their lover to get to know them beyond what their glamorous image makes them out to be.
Black Pink switch up their sound from hip-hop, to trap and R&B, in their new single “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du”. The dance track takes its name from the sound of pretend gunshots in the song’s music video. Black Pink’s new mini album “Square Up” features four new tracks: lead single “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du”, “Forever Young”, “Really”, and “See U Later”.
Black Pink made their previous comeback in June 2017, with the release of their single “As If It’s Your Last”. In the music video for the single, Black Pink turn the place they’re at into a dance floor, moving and grooving like that night was their last. Black Pink tell their special someone that they have to act now and express what they’re really feeling deep down, before time runs out.
